How do you get people to buy your work on line and do it yourself? Artists are selling work from web sites, and Elin has been dealing directly with her collectors this way for years. From advice on how to best get your money’s worth for web sites, to how to promote and maintain your images for the best presentation to sell your work, Elin will share with you her secrets for Internet promotion and sales, and how to be your own best marketer. From how-to handouts and contact information to trustworthy web designers, Elin will give you the power and information to do it yourself. She will also share with you the shady side of cyberspace and what to avoid as you move into this extremely profitable way of sharing your art with the world. Packed with information, this one-day workshop will also take you on a visual journey as she utilizes technology to present the Web in real time.
This is not a technical workshop for software, although she will introduce several programs in her presentation, but is geared for artists looking to move into and market their work on the Web.
Kentucky Horse Park, Five Day Workshop, "Color Bootcamp" aka "Color in Landscape Painting with horses". September 19-23, 2005. Contact the AAEA about reserving your space! Here's the description:
Renamed “Color Boot Camp” during last year’s workshop, students finished 118 paintings in five days! If you are struggling with color, this is the workshop for you. Elin presents the basics of how to compose strong value designs based upon the most popular ratios of light, mid-tone and dark values. She then moves the students through her color system to depict six separate and distinct times of day, focusing on the horse in landscape. Students paint from their own copy, logically making good color choices based upon the key aspects of landscapes in morning light, noon, afternoon and moonlight illumination.
